Thank You Tabernacle Choir
My wife and I were feeling a bit depressed. Los Angeles was never known for large portions of Christmas cheer, but this year seemed more cheerless than usual: fewer decorations, fewer Santas in malls, caroling only on TV and little of that. It seemed that the heart had gone out of Christmas. Perhaps Covid and the lockdown had finished it off.
But then there it was, like Old Faithful. Known to the world as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, now officially called the Tabernacle Choir. there it was on TV with their annual Christmas concert. Even for these two Jews, the Latter-Day Saints with their island of beauty and faith in a sea of faithless drabness – there they were, doing their duty as always.
Thanks, Latter-Day Saints. My only argument with you is whether "Day" should be capitalized. For all the rest, I am an enthusiastic supporter.
